Moving for a better education

Many parents may choose to relocate to another place based on the quality of the education available. Usually, if you considering moving for a better education, you might choose the right place based on statistics. An important factor to consider would be the reading and maths scores of both private and public schools.

If you have young children, do not only look at elementary school figures, think about high school and possibly college. This will enable your children the option to stay home for part of their college years. You can also consider the overall number of public and private schools in the area that you are interested in. This will give you an indication on your options and on how “family-friendly” the area is. It might be pleasant to have neighbours with children of around the same age as yours.

In 2013, Newsweek had released their list of top high schools in USA. This is an indication as to which schools produce the best-prepared students for college. Their ranking used several criteria such as the graduation rate, schools ranking, average SAT/ACT scores, college acceptance rates and percentage of their students enrolled in AP/IB/AICE courses. Regions primed by this list are Kentucky, Arizona, Virginia, Florida and Texas.
